Obituary of Phyllis A. Franco
After four years of a courageous battle against failing kidneys and their attendant ailments, Phyllis Ann Franco departed this world, to suffer no longer and to be at peace. So many of you out there loved her, love our family, and were there with a kind word and friendship through this struggle and we thank you for that.
From her time working for a publishing house in New York City, to building a safe, encouraging and really, really, really clean home upstate for her husband Al, two sons, Michael and Nicky (and quite a few dogs), Phyllis was always known as kind, strong-willed and thoughtful. Her strength was evident in her battle with cancer many years ago, which she ultimately won, and her continued ability to thrive despite her more recent health challenges.
She was a lover of music, cooking, dancing and shopping, and she never failed to impress her family and friends during game night with the amazing capacity of her memory.
She taught both her sons lessons that have carried them into the world as kind, successful men, and provided her husband a home that would exceed anyone's expectations. She was a loving nanny to her grandaughter, and a kind aunt to her nephews.
Phyllis was an easy person to befriend, had a generous laugh, an inquisitive mind, and really knew her way around a pot of Sunday gravy and meatballs. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
