Bob was a wonderful mentor in my legal training. From the moment I joined Hill Rivkins in 1982 (in no small part due to him), Bob — together with our joint mentor Al Loesberg -- generously provided the guidance to help me grow as a lawyer/litigator in my own right. He also was a fiercely loyal friend. No matter what the circumstance you always knew Bob was there for you. Regardless of whether we were in a disagreement about something (not uncommon!), I always took comfort in the fact and warmth of his friendship. That has been a great gift. Finally, Bob was one of the most entertaining people I ever met. He had an outsized personality that he shared with everyone (whether they wanted it or not), and the greatest sense of humor! An amazing thing about Bob was that the humor so often came from the top of his head — he was a master of spontaneous one liners! These are memories that I will hold dear for the rest of my days.
