Obituary of Diane Lipkowitz
“Diane Lipkowitz, loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother “GG”, passed peacefully while preparing for her day on the morning of July 26th.
Diane was born on September 9, 1938, in the Bronx, NY to Louis and Mary Ruocco.
A first-generation American with her parents hailing from Luca, Italy, she clung close to her Italian roots of the core family, God, and supporting one another through the brightest and darkest times alike.
She married the love of her life, her beloved Gene, on February 19, 1960, and celebrated with a cross-country road trip up the PCT and back to the Bronx, NY.
A woman who would light up any room, she lived her life with a smile, always eager to give a warm embrace and engage in a conversation that would leave anyone feeling elated. Successful in her own right with a multi-decade career with the Reader’s Digest, she paved her way from Wall Street to Westchester, all while being the most loving and involved mother and wife to her husband, Gene; son, Keith; and daughter, Kim.
She found joy renewed in the last third of her life with the birth of her grandson, John Matthew, and Mark (Kim) and as of January 27, 2025, her great grandson, John William.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Lipkowitz; daughter, Kim (John Joseph); grandsons John Matthew (Caitlin) and Mark (Alecia); and great-grandson John William (John M. & Caitlin) - All of whom miss her dearly and will forever cherish her and the way she touched their lives.
She is pre-deceased by her father, Louis Ruocco; mother, Mary Ruocco-Chierchio; sisters Maryann Solicito, Joanna Sullivan, and Linda Novak; and son, Keith Lipkowitz.
All of whom have been patiently waiting to reunite with her, along with her partner-in-crime, Yorkie, Marley.
Diane may no longer be with us in the flesh, but her memory and soul will live on.
Stories and photos will be passed from generation to generation as we celebrate the life of a woman that can only be described as an Angel on Earth. “
