Charles Richard Kilmer Obituary

On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, Charles R. Kilmer Jr., Loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. 


Charles was born on September 28, 1941, to the late Charles & Angelina Kilmer. Charles attended Ossining High School, where he met the love of his life, Emily, in 1961. 


He served his country in the Air Force from 1959 to 1961. When he returned from the service, he started to drive as an independent long-haul truck driver. 


In 1981, Charles started C.K. Industries, which successfully served the construction industry for over 40 years. 


Charles loved serving his community through the Peekskill Rotary and helping the VA Hospital in Montrose 


He was an avid golfer & loved to travel upstate and to Florida. Most of all, Charles (poppie) loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 


Charles is survived by two sons, Richard (Kelly) Kilmer and David Kilmer, sister Barbara (Richard) Slagle, and grandchildren Rebecca (Erik) Brierley, 


Jonathan (Krissie) Kilmer, Richard(Christina) Kilmer, Jessica Kilmer, and Kaylee Kilmer. Great-grandchildren Madison, Ella, and Waylon. 


Charles is predeceased by his wife Emily and son John Kilmer. 


Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY, on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.


Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 1969 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY, on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:15 am.


Interment to follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Ossining, NY
