Madeline was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on February 11, 1947, and raised in North Bergen, New Jersey, where she met her husban,d John E. Fischer. They wed on November 9, 1968 and relocated to Peekskill, New York in 1975, when they joined The Church of the Holy Spirit
They were blessed with daughter, Jennifer, and son, John II, who predeceased her, along with her beloved husband John.
Madeline is survived by daughter-in-law Christina Fischer, and sisters Eileen Herberger and Jayne Becker Semenecz and brother-in-law George Herberger.
Madeline’s career began in New York City as the Personal Director for The United States Shipping Lines. Later Madeline became the Church of the Holy Spirit’s Office Manager where she made life-long friends.
Madeline and John shared a great love of computers and enjoyed many hours, desk to desk, working on them. She had a love of writing poetry and was an avid reader from childhood.
Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at Church of The Holy Spirit, 1969 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 11:00 am
Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
