Frederick George Ackerman Obituary
On Friday, January 9, 2026, Frederick G. Ackerman, Loving father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Fred was born on October 16, 1936, in the Bronx, NY to the late Robert J. Ackerman & Lillian Gately. Fred graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School in June 1954.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from January 1955 to January 1959.
Fred married the late Carol A. O’Connor in October 1969, in Yonkers, NY.
Fred was retired from NY Telephone where he worked as a lineman.
Fred enjoyed photography and genealogy. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (Willie) Wilson; son, Robert Ackerman; grandson Kiernan Wilson, and loving nieces and nephews.
Fred is predeased by his wife Carol and brother Robert and sister Lorraine.
