Darlene See Obituary
Darlene H. See passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, surrounded by her family at home. Darlene was born to the late Edward and Priscilla (Hill) Seaboldt on September 25, 1943. She was raised in Verplanck, NY along with her brother, Robert Seaboldt who predeceased her and step-brother, Donald Rabe (Cindy).
Darlene graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School (Montrose, NY) in 1961.
She worked at the IBM Research Center in Yorktown and the Itek Corporation in Ossining. Later on, she was employed for 18 years as a secretary in the Hendrick Hudson School district which she retired from in 1999.
Darlene married Raymond L. See, of Buchanan, NY in 1964. It seems fitting that her funeral service will be held in the same church where they first met when Darlene was a choir member. Ray and Darlene were blessed with their two daughters, Kimberly and Coleen, where home became Verplanck, NY. They later had a dedicated son (in-law), when Coleen married her husband, Douglas Jessup.
Darlene found her purpose in life which was helping others. She emanated a calming soul that touched everyone that came to know her; she was a listener along with being witty, light-hearted, and funny. Many came to know her laugh which will remain in our hearts today.
Darlene was an active volunteer and organizer for many years. She dedicated her time to multiple organizations and causes which included: The Women’s Guild at the Trinity Boscobel Church supporting knitting of prayers shawls, Co-President Parent Faculty Club – Blue Mountain Middle School, Charter Member of Tri-Village Junior Women’s Club, Member of General Federation Women’s Club of Hudson Valley, Co-Chair of the first March of Dimes Northern Westchester Walkathon, American Cancer Society, and for many years Member of the Hendrick Hudson Educational Secretaries Association.
Darlene and her husband, Ray, spent over 18 wonderful years of their retirement traveling between their winter home in Brooksville, FL and their home in Peekskill, NY. They enjoyed all that the good weather in Florida offered. Darlene loved to play Bingo, Mahjongg and Cards. She enjoyed opening her home up and hosting holiday gatherings to their friends in the community. Whether on a cruise ship or near one of their homes, Darlene enjoyed her time with her husband and friends.
We would like to think that her life did not end here on a Thursday at home, but rather transformed into life lessons that will be passed on through our patience, kindness, words and actions. We will always keep the beautiful memories of her alive in our hearts, for the memory of good deeds can never be taken from the hearts of those who are grateful.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY.
Church Service in her memory will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Trinity Boscobel Methodist Church, 275 Church Street, Buchanan, NY.
Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery, 1033 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY.
