Carmela Tripodi Misale of Milford, CT, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026. She was 94 years old.

She was born in San Martino, Calabria, Italy, on September 6, 1931, to Domenico and Maria Tripodi. She married Antonio Misale in 1948 in Italy and later moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In 1954, they moved to Verplanck, NY, where they owned and operated Tony's Delicatessen in Buchanan, NY, for 20 years. She also owned and operated a hotel in Santa Teresita, Argentina, for over two decades. She shared her talents as a cook, gardener, and seamstress with those she loved through life's many celebrations and milestones. 

She is survived by her three daughters: Natalina Surace (late Rocco) and Maria Vita (Charlie), and Grace Price, as well as her two sons: Carmelo Misale and Dominic Misale (Bonnie), and her three grandchildren: Fortunato Surace, Sarina Surace, and Antonio Misale. She is also survived by her sister Giuseppina DeSalvo (late Saverio), sisters-in-law Angelina Tripodi (late Giuseppe), Maria Rotondo (late Giuseppe), Carmela O'Connor (Gerald), and Concetta Bagala (late Francesco), along with many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Antonio Misale; her second husband, Romeo Galluzzo; her sisters Antonietta Magliano (late Antonio), Grazietta Ruggiero (late Pasquale), her brothers Salvatore Tripodi (late Maria), Rafaele Tripodi (late Amarosa), Giuseppe Tripodi (Angelina), her sister-in-law, Orsola Daletto (late Anthony), and her brother-in-law, Salvatore Misale.

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Chapel Service will be held at  Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 12:30 pm.

Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
