Benita Quinones Obituary

Benita Quinones Obituary

My loving mother, Benita Quinones, passed on August 25, 2026, peacefully in her home alongside family.

She was born on March 24, 1932, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to Bernardo Rivera and Maria Feliciano.

In her early 20s, she moved to New York, where she worked as a seamstress. She later moved to the Bronx, where she met and married the love of her life, “Gerardo Quinones,” on November 9, 1964, and had a daughter, Idalina.

They moved to Yonkers, where she worked for Family Service Society as a Home Health Aide for over 30 years. She cared for her patients with dedication and love. After the passing of her husband Gerardo, she moved to Peekskill to be closer to her family, where she lived the remainder of her life.

She loved flowers, reading, and to cook, especially Sunday dinners. But most of all she loved taking care of and spending time with her grandson Jonathan. She created a beautiful legacy filled with love and much laughter. She was the heart and soul of the family and loved us all unconditionally.

She is survived by her daughter Idalina, son-in-law Danny, grandson Jonathan, her nieces, nephews, and endless friends who will miss her tremendously.

She will be deeply loved, forever missed, and will remain in our hearts eternally.

Rest in peace, my sleeping beauty.
