Donald J. Marallo, Sr. a life-long resident of Peekskill, NY passed away on May 7, 2015. He was 89 years old. Mr. Marallo worked for IBM for 37 years. He retired as Superintendent of Semiconductor Manufacturing at the East Fishkill Plant.
He was born on April 12, 1926 in Peekskill, NY to Joseph and Carmela Caputi Marallo. Donald served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War Era. On August 13, 1949 he married Roberta Martin at St. Christopher’s Church in Buchanan. Donald was a life member of the Peekskill Fire Patrol and the IBM Quarter Century Club. He was also an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Roberta Marallo of Peekskill and four children; Mary Ann (Martin) Corsa of Peekskill, Donald J. (Elizabeth) Marallo, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Roberta (Sean) Michaels of Poway, CA and Donna (Peter) Towler of Peekskill. Also survived by nine grandchildren; Emily Solt, Martin Corsa, Jr., Lauren, Mary and Katherine Marallo, Max and Jake Michaels and Sarah and John Towler. “The family goes on”. A great grandson is expected in November. Also surviving are three sisters and a brother, Geraldine D’Angelo, Priscilla Cody, Joseph Marallo and Jean Squires.
Predeceased by a brother, Charles Marallo and two sisters, Carmela Keon and Mary Divine.
Visitation is Sunday, May 10th, 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, May 11th, 11am at St. Christopher’s Church, Buchanan. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Verplanck.
