Obituary of Maude E. Travis

PEEKSKILL - Maude E. Travis, age 84 of Peekskill, NY passed away on November 21, 2017. She was born on July 25, 1933 in Peekskill to George and Helen (Radigan) Redeker. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be missed by all. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 61 years, Philip G. Travis. Active as a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Spirit, the local Red Hats and Senior Citizen organizations, Mrs. Travis was employed as a home health aide with Dominican Sisters Family Health, having previously served as a school crossing guard near Woodside Elementary. She was an avid quilter, reader, gardener, she enjoyed traveling and the Jersey shore. She is survived by her three children Philip (Jill) Travis of Marlboro, NY, Laurie (Martin) Biedermann of Putnam Valley, NY, and Jeffrey (Kathy) Travis of Lansdale, PA; six grandchildren, Ryan and Gregory Travis, Kelsi and Eric Biedermann, and Kara and Emma Travis; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan II and Gregory II. She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy Furfaro and Helen Quinn, and pre-deceased by her brother Walter Miller. Calling hours are Sunday, November 26, 2017, 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street Peekskill, NY. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 27 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Cortlandt, NY 10am. Entombment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Putnam Valley, NY.
