Obituary of Joanne M. Tavano

Joanne M. Tavano of Buchanan, NY entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 22nd, 2018 at the age of 85. She was born in New York, NY to William and Lorenza(Raven) Mailander. Joanne, AKA “Mima” or “Mammy”, was a loving and spirited woman who loved to joke and laugh with friends and family. She enjoyed arts and crafts, was a seasoned crocheter, and played the organ. She loved animals and had several dogs and cats over the years. She was a faithful parishioner of the St. Christopher and St. Patrick Church in Buchanan and a member of the senior citizen clubs in Buchanan, Cortlandt, and Verplanck. She is predeceased by her brother Neil, sisters Marcella and Martha, and nephew John. She is survived by her ex-husband Salvatore Jr., son Salvatore III, daughter-in-law Roxanne, nephews William, Mark, and Joseph, nieces Wanda and Diane, grandsons Salvatore IV and Michael, granddaughter Rose, grandson-in-law Aldo, and great granddaughter Louise. Visitation will be held at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 27th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm Funeral Mass will be held at St. Christopher's Church on Thursday, June 28th at 10:00am
