Obituary of John P. Shubert

John P. Shubert a life-long resident of Peekskill passed away on November 10, 2016. He was 83 years old. Prior to retiring, Mr. Shubert worked as a Power Plant Operator for General Motors in Tarrytown. He was born on March 3, 1933 in Peekskill to Joseph and Anna Mae Howe Shubert. He served in the US Army during the Korean War era. On June 17, 1961 he married Carmella J. Napolitano at the Assumption Church in Peekskill.
He is survived by his daughter MaryAnn (Domenic) Volpe of Cortlandt Manor and a son, John (Veronica) Shubert, Jr. of Kannapolis, NC. Six grandchildren; Danielle (Anthony) Maucieri, Nicholas, Alyssa and Michael Volpe, Dylan and Matthew Shubert and a great granddaughter, Ava Sophia Maucieri. Also survived by a sister, Dolores Mellone.
Predeceased by his wife, Carmella Shubert and a daughter, JoAnn Shubert. Also predeceased by three sisters; Gloria and Marie Shubert, Elizabeth McIntyre and a brother, Joseph Shubert.
Visitation is Sunday, November 13th from 4pm to 8pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 14th, 10am at the Assumption Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
