Hilda Treistman died Friday, September 23, 2016, at the age of 92. She was a lifelong resident of Peekskill and Cortlandt and was born March 8, 1924 in NYC. After graduating from Peekskill High School in 1941 she went on to study fashion design at Pratt Institute. From there she created a business hand painting neckties and scarves in New York while still in her 20’s. After marriage and child rearing she went on to hold many jobs in different fields. An accomplished artist, Hilda created her own holiday cards with her sketches, many inspired by her love of the Hudson Valley landscape. Later in life she took a job at the Fieldhome- Holy Comforter and retired at age 75 as a proud 1199 SEIU union member. Hilda was known for her uncanny perceptiveness, bordering on the extrasensory. She is survived by 2 sons, Roger and Donald, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at Hillside Cemetery, 1033 Oregon Rd, Cortlandt Manor on Tuesday, September 27 at 1:00 PM.
