Obituary of Leonard P. Keesler, Sr.

Leonard P Keesler Sr. entered into eternal rest on Friday January 11, 2019. He was 77 years of age. He was born on October 29, 1941 in Montrose NY, to George and Stella Keesler. He is survived by his children George, Leonard Jr (Lori) and Melissa (Jonathan) Dawson. Leonard has six grandchildren, Brianna and Lindsey Keesler of Cortlandt Manor, Paul Keesler of Putnam Valley, Julia, Samantha and Katelyn Dawson of Hopewell Junction. He is also survived by his brothers Charlie, Fred, Thomas and sisters Joan Yetman, Carol Conklin, and Barbara Otero, and brother in law John Stinson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by his wife Carol Ann (Stinson) Keesler of which he was married to for 45 years. He was also predeceased by his parents and his brothers James, George, and Richard.

 

Leonard served in the US Army from 1960 to 1964 where he achieved the rank of Corporal. He worked for the Town of Cortlandt for 36 years. He was a lifetime member of the Verplanck Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief and Commissioner and he was a member of WCVFA for 40 years.

Visitation will be held at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Monday, January 14th from 3:00pm to 9:00pm

Private Cremation Service to Follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Saint Judes or Maria Fareri Children's Hospital.
