Althea Galati Snowden of Poughkeepsie, NY formerly of Peekskill passed away on August 15, 2016. She was 87 years old. A homemaker, she was born on July 18, 1929 in Peekskill to John and Florence Robinson Galati. On July 25, 1950 she married John W. Snowden, III in Peekskill.
Althea is survived by a son, Robert (Mary Jayne) Snowden of Poughkeepsie, daughter, Lynn (John) Dorney of Fayettville, GA, daughters-in-law; Carrie Snowden of Fishkill and Donna Snowden of Beacon. Also survived by, eight grandchildren; Mark Snowden, Samantha Cuello, Sarah Edwards, Daniel and Benjamin Dorney, Laura Cruz, Rebecca Peppin and John Snowden, V; eight great grandchildren and two sisters; Audrey Cothren and Lorraine Vezina.
Predeceased by her husband, John W. Snowden, III, her son John W. Snowden, IV and a great grandchild. Also predeceased by four brothers, Salvatore, Joseph, Anthony and Frank Galati and a sister, Genevieve Palmer.
Visitation is today, Wednesday, August 17th, from 4pm to 8pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Funeral Service is Thursday, August 18th, 10am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
