Roberta M. Nolan (Wersebe) of Cape May, NJ, formerly of Cortlandt Manor, NY passed away on July 28, 2016 in Cape May, NJ. She was 84 years old. Roberta was a Veteran Sponsor in her Cortlandt Manor home for over twenty years providing care and lodging for veterans in need.
She was born on June 27, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ to Joseph and Kathleen Bender Nolan. On August 18, 1985 she married John Wersebe in Cornwall, NY. Roberta was a past member of the Peekskill Auxiliary Police and Peekskill Ambulance Corps.
She is survived by four children: Gayle DeMatteis, Cape May, NJ, George (Buddy) Schaible, Cortlandt Manor, NY, William (Bill) Schaible, Cortlandt Manor, NY and Patricia Reilly, Cornwall. NY Also surviving are: eight grandchildren, two great granddaughters, a brother, Joseph William Nolan of Waretown, NJ and a sister, Maureen Nolan of Brewster, NY. Predeceased by, her husband, John Wersebe.
Visitation is Friday, August 5th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10am, Saturday, August 6th, St. Columbanus Church, Cortlandt Manor. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
