I worked with Bill while he was at Indian Point 3 and later when he was back at IP as a project manager. Beside being a very knowledgeable maintenance professional Billy could also make us laugh. There are a number of us at IP3 (circa 1993) who will remember Billy suggesting someone turn out the lights in a meeting room so he could "take care" of a problem senior manager who always sat at the head of the table. I think we all laughed till we cried.
My condolences to Bill's friends and family.

I worked with Bill at Indian Point many times over the years. We were good friends when we were in training together in the early 1970s (A long time ago!). I appreciated his part in efforts in trying to improve management employees' situation around the time IP3 was sold to Entergy (2000). My deepest sympathies to the Carano family.

I worked with Bill for many years at Indian Point. I always found him to be a talented and dedicated professional who was ready to jump in and take on the most challenging tasks. I’ll always remember his leadership in skillfully resolving the stuck fuel assembly issue we had during one of the many refuelings. Billy was great to be around. Always positive and upbeat, with lots to talk about. I don’t ever remember seeing him down. What a Great Guy that left here too soon and will be missed by many. My sincere condolences to his family and close friends. May he Rest In Peace. Bill & Janet Josiger

I think just about anybody that knew Bill could write a book about him. I worked with a lot of people in my life but few as interesting. For years i kept a log of some of the things he said called "Billisms" one of the best was "The best resturants in NY are in Fort Lee"
When I worked for Bill we had fun, made a lot of money and got a lot of work done. I think of him often a tell a story now and again, He will be missed

I have a few fond memories of Bill but one in particular stands out. When he purchased the house on Lake Oscawanna he often invited me to come relax near his dock. We spent some summer days just relaxing with some cold beers next to the lake. Never during our conversations was a dull moment. We could talk openly and for hours. We had fun letting the dogs swim in the lake and Bill was very much at peace in his life. He often spoke about his children and grandchildren as they all made him proud leaving him with a great sense of achievement knowing how wonderful they all were and boasting of all their extraordinary achievements. In particular the many athletic and academic achievements stuck with him. The baseball, lacrosse, basketball, field hockey and football games, wrestling matches college graduations academic awards and so on really made Bill extraordinarily happy. Family was very important to him undoubtedly. I will miss Bill and considered him a good friend. May he rest in peace!! God Bless.
