Ismael Perez we started at the academy. When a few of us would go out joke and laugh. I knew when you were going to say something funny to make us feel that everything was OK. Izzy was a great man; this is simply an understatement. Izzy was a one-of-a-kind soul and anyone who knew him considered themselves lucky. He was so selfless and always willing to lend a helping hand and lift the spirits of others with his humor and wit.
Izzy called me the day he passed and I missed his call. I will never forget this day and wish to God I didn’t miss it. I wish I had that last opportunity to have spoken with him, as we all do.
Izzy was a beautiful soul and left this world far too early- you will be so greatly missed my brother. Our loss is Heaven’s gain and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
