Stephen A. Nickerson, a Cortlandt Manor resident, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016. He was 69. Mr. Nickerson was Parks Superintendent, working for the Westchester County Parks Dept. He worked there for 35 years, retiring in 2004. He was born on December 7, 1946, to Wendel and Leone Richards Nickerson. He received his Associate Degree from the University of New Hampshire, then his Bachelor Degree from Mercy College. On Dec. 27, 1969 he married Patricia Allen at St. Columbanus Church. She survives and resides in Cortlandt Manor. He is also survived by his father, Wendel Nickerson, of Ocala, FL, his daughters, Amy (David) Goldstein, of Closter, NJ, and Beth (Mike) Protomastro, of Lyndhurst, NJ. He also has 5 grandchildren, Rocco, Michael and Hudson Protomastro, and Aster and Emily Goldstein, as well as 2 brothers, Thomas (Patrice) Nickerson, and Daniel (Kate) Nickerson, both of Rochester, NH. Visiting is on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 3-6PM at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home. A Service will be held at 4:30PM during visitation. Private Cremation will follow.
