MarySue Spinella Kasten of Peekskill, NY

April 29, 1947- March 28, 2020

MarySue, was a bright light in a large, extended family of friends and relatives who will sorely miss her. Everyone she met adored her on sight for her mischievous smile, warm hugs, quick wit, and the way she made you feel special. She rose through the ranks at Maryknoll Fathers where her leadership and organizational skills earned her a promotion to marketing manager. After retirement, she cared for her father in his remaining days. She also tenderly nursed her husband Richard who passed away at home. She loved animals and leaves behind Chrissie, her Persian cat of sixteen years.

MarySue is survived by her sister Elissa Zahakos and her daughters, Christina Rice, husband Dennis, Kathryn Horner, husband Dave and their families; her sister BettyAnn Lauria, her husband Tom, son Austin and his wife Monique and their family; her brother Austin Spinella, his wife Heidi, daughter Julia; her brother Anthony Spinella, his wife Kathleen, and children Sarah, Amanda and Jake; her brother-in-law Thomas Kasten, his wife Rosemary and children Thomas, Jr., Tracy Kasten Steinberg, her husband Jason, and their family. MarySue will also be remembered by so many cousins and friends, in particular Maggie Guinan who supported her tirelessly before and after the passing of her beloved Richard.

MarySue will be laid to rest at her husband’s side at Rose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Putnam Valley, NY, on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 11:00am.
