Obituary of Homer Lafuente

Homer Lafuente, 83 passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Peekskill.

Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the son of Rosa and Holegario Lafuente, he moved to the United States and settled down in Peekskill in the early 60’s. Homer worked for St Joseph’s Home and the City of Peekskill as a mechanic where he retired from in 1999.  He spent many years enjoying the city he came to call home. He loved speaking and reminiscing with anyone he met along his daily trips throughout the city. He was known for his good humor and joyous laugh.

He leaves behind his adoing wife of 53 years, Mary Lafuente; his sons, Homer, Robert and Steve; daughter-in-law, Eileen; two grandchildren, Katie and Shyla Marie; and many loving family members and close friends.

Homer will be missed by those who knew and loved him. 

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Monday, April 13, 2020 from 11:00am to 1:30pm.

Graveside Ceremony will take place at Assumption Cemetery at 2:00pm and will be officiated by Father Esteban.

In light of the recent worldwide occurrences dealing with the outbreak of COVID-19, the family of Homer Lafuente would like to have his Hours of Visitation and Burial Services reserved for immediate Family.
