Fannie Marallo, of Peekskill, passed away on June 26, 2016. She was 96 years old. During World War II, Fannie worked at Eastern Aircraft. She also worked at Standard Brands at Charles Point for 10 years. Fannie did volunteer work for the Salvation Army in Peekskill for 5 years and she delivered “Meals on Wheels” for the City of Peekskill for 5 years. Locally, she was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Peekskill and a Parishioner of Assumption Church.
Fannie was born on February 7, 1920 in Peekskill to Dominick and Maria Lioce Pisani. She attended Peekskill High School. On July 27, 1941, Fannie married Charles Marallo at Assumption Church in Peekskill. Charles passed away on October 13, 1992. He was retired from the New York Central Railroad, now, Metro North.
Fannie is survived by one daughter, Linda Heimann, and her husband, James; one son, Charles Marallo, Jr., and his wife, Amanda; and two granddaughters, Melissa Heimann Cortese and Amanda Heimann. Family members who died earlier include one brother, Andrew Pisani, and two sisters, Jeanette Gaglioti and Margaret Pisani.
Calling hours are Thursday, from 4pm to 8pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass is Friday, 10am at Church of the Assumption. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Adams Corner, Putnam Valley. Friends may send memorial donations to the Church of the Assumption, 131 Union Avenue, Peekskill, NY 10566.
