Obituary of Marianne Crist

Marianne Wolfing Crist passed away at Cortlandt Healthcare on Wednesday, May 20th and went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 88 years. Marianne was born in Germany on July 4, 1931.

Marianne will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Renate Gazzola, her daughter Patricia Gnirrep (Jac) and son Peter Wolfing (Pegi).  She will also be missed by her grandchildren Damian Cintron (Melena) and Brielle Gazzola, Jessica Rostawanik (John), Mary Signorile (Jeffrey), Jac Gnirrep and Pierce and Paige Wolfing.  She will be remembered and missed by her 6 great-grandchildren: Jake and Jocelyn Rostawanik and Joseph, Emily, Daniel and Ella Signorile.

Marianne came from Germany to the U.S. bringing with her an entrepreneurial spirit.  She always believed in working hard and she was the successful owner of several fabric stores and a restaurant. She also taught interior decorating in adult education school.

She had a wonderful sense of style and she made outfits for her family and friends.  

Her house was always full of friends and family on Sunday afternoon, where she prepared delicious home cooked meals.

While she was beautiful on the outside, her true beauty came from her giving spirit, her compassionate heart and her love for the Lord.

We will all miss her but we find comfort in knowing that she is happy and healthy in the presence of Jesus.  This is not truly goodbye, it is “until we meet again.”

Family Visitation will be held at Josepf F. Nardone Funeral Home on Sunday, May 24, 2020 from 11:00am to 1:00pm

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Christian Assembly of God, 20 Wayne Avenue, West Haverstraw NY  10993 to benefit “Feeding Body & Soul Food Pantry.
