Obituary of Kathleen Kirkpatrick
Kathleen “La La” Cozzi Kirkpatrick passed away during the late hours of May 18, 2020, she was 57 years old.
Kathy was born March 23, 1963, in Peekskill, New York, to Barbara and John Cozzi.
She graduated from Peekskill High School in 1981 with near perfect scores on all of her coursework. After graduation she continued her education at Widener University in Chester Pennsylvania, graduating in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
As a young girl Kathy loved to sing and bring joy to the family around her. Her favorite phrase to sing around the house was La-La-La La-La-La, so she was given the nickname “La La”. “La La” stuck and was used her entire life by all family members of all generations. Kathy “La La” was a loving mother, mother-in-law, sister, daughter, cousin, aunt, great aunt, and friend to many people. “La La” was a kind, thoughtful, and caring person who had a passion to help others and bring a smile to their faces. All of her gifts were homemade crafts because she knew a homemade present was always more personal and would be cherished in the house for years to come. Her homemade ornaments given throughout the years are still hung on the Christmas Trees of family and friends every year.
Kathy was an amateur award-winning photographer who loved to travel and take pictures of family members and nature. Along with her kids and close friends she would take road trips across the country, frequent beach locations, go on cruises, and visit her daughter at Disney World. She kept every photo to preserve the memories for everyone to enjoy for generations to come.
She will be deeply missed by family, friends and everyone who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her mother Barbara Cozzi; her daughter Stephanie Kirkpatrick; her son and his wife Philip and Ingrid Kirkpatrick; her sister Lisa Cozzi Rogonia; her brother John Cozzi; her brother and his wife Benjamin and Lisa Cozzi. Kathy was also a loving Aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.
