Obituary of Olga Dimichele

Olga Ascenzo Dimichele passed away peacefully of natural causes at the NYS Veterans Home at Montrose on June 4, 2020, at the age of 93. In addition to her family, Olga found great joy in music and sang for many years with the Old Mill Singers and the Assumption Church Choir, where she had many dear friends.

Born in San Valentino, Pescara, Abruzzo, Italy on February 16, 1927, to Antonio and Palmina D’Ottavio Ascenzo, Olga came to live in Peekskill at the age of 9 and was educated in the city schools. On June 27, 1948, she married Alfredo (Fred) Dimichele at the Assumption Church in Peekskill.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred Dimichele, her son Frederick Dimichele, and two brothers, Mario and Thomas Ascenzo.

Olga is lovingly remembered by her 3 children; Elaine(Frank) Caccoma of Peekskill, Michael Dimichele of Mt. Vernon and Dora(Steven Thomas) Dimichele of Media, PA; and her eight grandchildren whom she cherished; Frederick, Shannon, Kerri Dimichele(Delaware), and Kyle Dimichele(Maryland), Oliva Caccoma(Philadelphia), Alexander Caccoma(Peekskill), Brandon Thomas and Serafina Thomas(Media) and five-greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the staff of the NYS Veterans Home at Montrose for their outstanding and compassionate care. 

Many thank also, to the staff of My Second Home of FSW in Mt. Kisco, especially Margaret and Joe, who made every day special and enjoyable.

Visitation will be held on, Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at 11-12:30 pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY. 

Interment to follow at the Assumption Cemetery, 1055 Oregon Rd, Cortlandt Manor, NY. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to My Second Home, Family Services of Westchester.
