Loretta M. ""Mamami"" Donohue Obituary

Loretta M. “Mamami” Donohue, a life-long resident of Peekskill, NY passed away on June 18, 2016. She was 84 years old. A homemaker, Loretta was born on September 4, 1931 in Peekskill to John and Mary Powers Keenan. She graduated from Peekskill High School in 1950. On May 12, 1951 she married John H. “Peewee” Donohue at Eternal Father of the Sea Chapel at the Naval Base in Charleston, SC.


Loretta is survived by her husband John H. Donohue of Peekskill and six children; Kathleen Fytros of Peekskill, Nancy (Roy) Scott of Peekskill, Kelly Donohue of Peekskill, John H. (Gail) Donohue of Plattsburg, NY, Patricia (William) Engleman of Albuquerque, NM and Heather Gretz of Newburyport, MA. Also survived by a sister, Jane Eickler of Peekskill, fourteen grandchildren; Kyle, Shannon, Ashley, Jillian, Jennifer, John, Jordan, Casey, Brandon, Alexis, Olivia, Charlotte, Christian and Carson, sixteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.


Visitation is Tuesday, June 21st and Wednesday, June 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10am on Thursday, June 23rd at the Assumption Church. Interment will follow at the Assumption Cemetery.
