Obituary of Phillip Charles Carpenter
Carpenter, Phillip passed away suddenly at Weill Cornell Hospital, New York on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the age of 76. Phillip was born on March 15, 1944, in Ossining, NY.
Phillip was very proud of his service in the United States Army, he was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from Robinson Oil Company in Elmsford, NY where he not only worked but where he developed lasting friendships.
Phil was an active member of the Peekskill Elks Lodge and the American Legion Post #1597 in Crotonville, NY. Phil loved the time he spent as an assistant scoutmaster for Troop 1 of Peekskill and the time spent with his Assumption Church family. Always eager to lend a hand when and where he was needed.
Phillip is predeceased by his son Robert, by his parents, Allan and Helen Carpenter of Ossining, his brother Allan Carpenter of North Salem, his brother William of Ossining, and his sister Elizabeth Thompson of Lagrangeville.
Phillip is survived by his ex-wife Myrna Santos Carpenter of Peekskill, their sons Michael (Maria) and grandson Carson; Steven (Latoya), and granddaughters Maia and Leah, of Peekskill.
He is also survived by Thomas Carpenter (Diane) of Arizona, his son from a previous marriage to Betty Bohlig. Grandchildren; Robert, Devin, Christopher, Rianne, and Ryan, Great-Grandchildren; Lucas, Isabelle, Noah, and Cooper.
Phillip will be missed by his family, friends, and his community and will be held in their hearts forever.
Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Sunday, January 24, 2021, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption on Monday, January 25, 2021, at 10:00 am.
Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
