Obituary of Douglass M. Lang
Douglass M. Lang, 79 years old from Buchanan, NY passed away on January 22, 2021, at Westchester Medical Center with his wife and two girls at his bedside.
Doug is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patty; two daughters, Bonnie and her husband Mike and Lizzy and her husband Ed; Granddaughter Casey and her Husband Jon, and Grandsons Jacob, Steven Sean, and Eddie; as well as many Nieces and Nephews.
Doug is predeceased by his parents Helen and George Lang and sister Barbara Anderson.
Doug proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from NY Telephone company more than 30 years ago due to being injured at work, Doug spent his time on the sidelines taking pictures of local high school sports teams as the photographer for the Peekskill Herald until the late 1990s.
For three decades Doug has been a fighter overcoming every health obstacle in his way from Cancer, Triple By-pass, eleven hip surgeries, and on and on. The true miracle of his survival all these years was his determination to make it. Everyone that knows Doug will tell you that they will never meet a stronger man than he was. He may have not had it easy but his constant smile, kindness, and humor made all of us feel better for him.
Due to the Pandemic services will not be held at this time. When it is warmer and safe to be together the family will hold a memorial in Doug’s honor.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Wounded Warriors or St. Jude’s Foundation in Doug’s name.
