Virginia S. "Ginny" ""Ginny"" DiCola Obituary
Virginia S. “Ginny” DiCola, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at NY Pres./Hudson Valley Hospital. She was 81. Ginny was a retired Proof Reader at Maryknoll in Ossining. She also worked at Sorrento’s Restaurant in Peekskill for over 30 years. She was born in Peekskill on Jan. 20, 1935, to Charles and Evelyn Spock Miller. She was married to Nicholas DiCola on July 22, 1954 at Assumption Church. He died in 1997. Ginny was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and cooking for her family. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Bernie) Calabro, of Verplanck, Teresa (John) Lyons, of Newburgh, Debra (Cesar) Nieves, of Poughquag, Michael (Joanne) DiCola, of Cortlandt Manor, Dougie DiCola, of Newburgh, and Donnie DiCola, of Shohola, PA. She also has a sister, Patricia Wassil, of Buchanan, 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Lepore, and Mary Ellen Miller, and her daughter-in-law, Tracy DiCola, 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Besides her husband she is also predeceased by a son, William DiCola in 2002, a daughter, Victoria Bushey, in 2009, and 2 brothers, Charles and Richard Miller. Her Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10AM at Assumption Church. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home. Private cremation will follow. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Memphis, TN 38148.
