Obituary of Cynthia Wood

Cynthia Louise Wood passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2021.

She was born on January 16, 1955, in Ossining, NY to the late Dr. Marshall H. Wood and Marjory Lee Wood. She graduated from Ossining High School in 1973. She later graduated from Temple University with a degree in History and did post-graduate work at the University of Delaware. 

Cynthia loved to sing and also studied voice at Mannes School of Music in NYC. For the last 20 years, she worked as the church secretary at the First Baptist Church in Ossining.

Cynthia was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasantville.  She enjoyed singing in both of these churches when she had the opportunity. 

Cynthia was always an avid reader and as a child carried a book with her wherever she went. Of course, in these days it was her Kindle. She, also, loved taking "classes" online to learn about new things especially nature. Her last class being, "Identifying the birds that come to your feeder". She, also, followed several nature cams of nests of Eagles or other wildlife, especially in Maine.  Cynthia loved her cats and always cared for 2 or 3 at a time.

Cynthia is survived by her sister, Marsha Carlson [Donald], Sister-in-law, Patricia Wood, and 2 nieces Meridith [Jason Reno] and Hilary [Michael Primo], and their daughter Tallulah Lee Primo.

Her brother, Robert Wood, predeceased her in January 2021.

Memorial Service will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY  on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
