Obituary of Edward Joseph Szczerba

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Edward Joseph Szczerba (Eddie) finally found peace on May 21, 2021, after a beautiful life and a tough fight.

He made sure his wife Helen and children Marissa and Michelangelo knew how much he loved them every day. He loved his siblings ( Yoli, George, Irene, Donna, Richie, Nicki, Laura, Michelle, Regina, and Doreen) as well as his many nieces and nephews so very much.

He joins his mother (Sophie), father (Nicholas), and brother (Richie) in the kingdom of heaven. Family meant everything to him.

Eddie was the kindest person ever and loved his friends as his own family. He would often express his affection with his home cooking. He was a proud, self-taught chef with over 35 years in the industry. Food and cooking were so important in his life. He's shared a lifetime of recipes with us all through email and texts. His delicious baked goods were his calling card.  He was an avid Yankee fan, loved gardening, music, and Broadway. He loved all animals, but most of all his many pets.

He was a volunteer at White Plains Hospital for over eight years and as with everything he did gave it his all! Eddie was truly an unforgettable person. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jonathan Wynn and Dr. Evelyn Horn for helping him fight so hard.

A memorial mass will be held to pray for Eddie on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Our Lady of Sorrows 920 Mamaroneck Ave White Plains, N.Y. at 12:00 pm.

We ask that In lieu of food and flowers donations may be made to White Plains Hospital in his name.
