I have such sorrow in learning of our dear Denise Calabrese at her passing. My sincere sympathy to Chris and family in your loss. Denise and I bonded as friends and colleague's at Hudson River HC/ Sunrise HC over many years in our shared service to Peekskill. We remembered with laughter our days as kids growing up in town and in PHS. She was Saint here on earth and now in Heaven. I pray a balm of peace for the Calabrese/ Bovich families. I first met Denise when we were both about 3.5 y.o. and that's when the bond began and our history of mischief was started. First in kindergarten when we got sent to opposite corners for misbehaving and I could go on and on; all in the name of good fun. Our High School health teacher put it best, I was the trouble maker and Denise was the catalyst. The fun we had, growing up together, sharing our lives (and clothes), discussing our first kisses with our boyfriends, etc. Life was always more fun and enjoyable when we were together. And then we grew up....last time Denise and I were together we both talked about how fortunate we were and how we wanted to have more money so we could do more for others. Denise did what she could with what she had and that made me love her all the more. I was honored last night to donate to the Denise M Calabrese foundation to help continue her wonderful legacy.

Denise and I were friends from the age of seven when we attended Religious Instructions at the Assumption Church together, and remained friends throughout high school. Denise was cheery; I would say she sparkled, and always had a friendly word and smile to share. I send my sincere condolences to her family and will keep all of you in my prayers.
