Obituary of Darryl J. Douglas
Douglas, Darryl passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 27th of 2021.
Born on August 11th, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York to John and Lena Douglas, he is predeceased by his loving wife Nanci, and stepson Danny.
He is survived by his children Christopher and Ryan Douglas, grandson Jeremy, and granddaughter Averie.
He will lovingly be remembered by parents John and Lena Douglas, brother Keith, nieces Corinne and Nicole, great-nieces Emerlee and Ensley, numerous cousins, friends, and those who made countless memories with him.
After earning his bachelor’s degree, with Gold Medal recognition in the culinary arts, Darryl went on to work for The Rainbow Room, and various other fine dining establishments as a pastry chef. Following his successful career as a pastry chef, he proudly followed in his father’s footsteps and became a member of Ironworkers Local 361 in Brooklyn. He was an avid New York Yankees fan, a doting grandfather to Averie, and a wonderful godfather to Nicole. Darryl was exceptionally proud of his Mohawk heritage and frequently visited his family and friends in Kahnawake.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill.
Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, 381 N. Highland Avenue, Ossining.
Private cremation to follow.
