Casper M. Knizeski Obituary
Casper Knizeski, lifelong resident of Peekskill, NY passed away at the age of 88 on Friday, March 4, 2016 after a short illness. He was born in Peekskill, NY on June 12, 1927 to the late Kasper and Joanna Knizeski. Casper served in the US Navy in 1945 during WWII. He married Leila DiMilia on June 3, 1951. Casper worked as a butcher for the A&P for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing on the Hudson, gardening, traveling, and dancing to Polka music. Casper was also a devoted parishioner of the Assumption Church and member of the Polish National Alliance.
He is survived by his wife and lifelong partner Leila Knizeski of Peekskill, NY; daughter Christine and husband Dennis Boccard of Wheaton, IL; son Michael and wife Ellen Knizeski of Stonington CT; granddaughter Nicole and husband Jason Maxwell of Glendale Heights IL; granddaughter Kim Boccard of Villa Park, IL; and granddaughter Annie Knizeski of Stonington CT. He is also survived by many relatives including niece Arlene and husband Doug Swankie of Buchanan NY; nephew Richard and wife Betsy Knizeski of Buchanan NY; niece Caroline and husband Bob Wilson of Blufton, SC; nephew Jack and wife Susan Pretak of Hyde Park NY; and niece Mary Foster along with her children Scott and Kelly Foster of Peekskill NY.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Assumption Church in Peekskill, NY. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 8, from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY.
