Obituary of Joseph A. Carlucci

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Carlucci, Joseph A, Sr 73 of Mahopac, NY passed away from natural causes on May 6, 2022.

He was born November 18, 1948, to Harold (Pat) and Nancy Carlucci (nee DiMaio) in Philadelphia, PA.

Anyone who met Joe knew he was the life of the party. He quickly became friends with all those around him and charmed everyone he met.

A lifelong NY Yankees and Green Bay Packers fan, he could often be found sitting back watching the games on TV or in person at the stadiums with a cold Budweiser in his hand. He wasn’t just a spectator of sports, he also enjoyed playing softball and playing golf.

His children and grandchildren meant the world to him, he loved them with all his heart and soul. One of his favorite past times was fishing and crabbing with his children when they were small and his grandchildren.

He loved listening to the oldie's music and enjoyed watching the classics on TV.

He was a jack-of-all-trades, working closely with his brothers in business from painting to furniture refinishing.

He was extremely family-oriented, hosting and attending large family parties. You could always find him behind the grill at the annual family Fourth of July party. Holidays found him in the kitchen with his wife cooking large meals for any of the guests…family and friends alike.

We will miss his smile, his laughter, his silliness, his giant heart, and his ability to make everyone around him feel like part of the family. We will miss the big kid he became around any holiday…especially buying us snow from Santa for Christmas! We will miss all the things he taught us about life, sports, enjoying life to the fullest, and what family truly means.

He is survived by his wife Karla (nee Brayman), his 4 children Kimberly Ambrosecchia (Alessandro "Mugz") of Greenwich, CT, George Carlucci of Orlando, FL, Tara Richmond (Jason) of Winter Garden, FL, Joseph Carlucci Jr. of Belle View, FL, and 2 stepdaughters Kelly Sebastian (Todd) of Elk Grove, CA, and Theresa Kiser of Hopewell Junction. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Justin Ruvo & Alexander "Mac" Ambrosecchia of Greenwich, CT, Gianna Carlucci of Madison, FL, Carter & Greyson Richmond of Winter Garden, FL, Justin Cuevos & Melanie Finn of Hopewell Junction, and Alana Sebastian of Elk Grove, CA. He is also survived by his 6 siblings Helen, Anthony (Susan), Becky, Harold (Zoila), Lisa, and Tammy (Dennis), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
