Genevieve Veronica Capicotti passed away peacefully at Cortlandt Healthcare on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the age of 98.

She was born to the late Benjamin and Antoinette (Tallerico) Capicotti on April 9, 1924.  She attended St. Patrick's Grade School and later, Hendrick Hudson High School. 

She worked as a seamstress and salesperson for Nan Flower Lingerie Shop in Peekskill, NY. 

After she retired, she enjoyed traveling with her sister Teresa and participating in activities and trips with the Cortlandt Seniors. 

An avowed animal lover, Genevieve enjoyed taking care of the many dogs and cats running around the yard at her home. 

Before she took ill, she regularly attended mass at St. Patrick's Church.  A lifelong resident of Verplanck, NY, she was the last surviving member of the Capicotti family. 

She is predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Antoinette (Tallerico) Capicotti; her sisters Anita (Capicotti) Mason, Loretta (Capicotti) Arata, Sylvia (Capicotti) Hewitt, Teresa Capicotti, Mary Capicotti, and Rose Capicotti; and her brothers Joseph and Benjamin Capicotti.

She is survived by nine nieces and nephews and many cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Patrick's Church, 240 11th Street, Verplanck, NY.

Interment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 345 Broadway, Verplanck, NY.
