Kenneth R. Jessup Obituary

Kenneth R. Jessup

1963 – 2022

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Kenneth “Ken” Richard Jessup, 59, passed away peacefully at home

on Friday, November 18, 2022.

Ken was born on May 7, 1963, in Cold Spring, NY, to Juliene Orlando and the late Douglas Jessup. He was

raised and lived in Peekskill just about his whole life, with the exception of a couple of years in Rhode Island,

where he loved to go back and visit often. Ken graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School and went on to

serve in the United States Navy.

Ken developed a passion for horses as a teenager working at the Peekskill Dude Ranch. His passion came full

circle when his daughters, Corinne and Danielle, developed that same passion! Ken loved spending time with his

girls in the barn with their horse, Paris, and loading up the horse trailer and traveling to compete in many

showcase events. He was very proud of his daughters’ commitment to the sport and their hard work ethics at

the barn. Ken is also very proud of the smart and beautiful ladies his daughters are today.

Ken loved his home, his dog’s Samantha (his favorite) and Teddy, his goats and chickens. He also loved the

peace of the water and could be found at the Peekskill Riverfront often fishing from a young boy until his

recent days.

Ken had a distinct deep voice (he could not whisper if he tried), a lot of energy, a great sense of humor and

always made people laugh. He was a hard worker owning his own restaurants, most notably, Taco ‘N Stuff in

Highland Mills and Little Mexican Café in Montrose. Prior to retirement, Ken worked many years for the

Briarcliff School District where he took care of the Grounds Maintenance at the schools. Since retirement, he

was of great assistance with the care of his Mom. Ken and his Mom were recognizable to so many people in

the community as well as businesses, as they were attached at the hip.

Ken is survived by his Daughters: Corinne Jessup and Danielle Jessup of Crugers; Sisters: Kelly Stevens of

Fishkill, Teresa Bonetti and her husband Bill of Fishkill, Marcella Freimark and her husband Norm of Somers

and Lisa Mowbray and her fiancée John of New Paltz; Brothers: Doug Jessup and his wife Coleen of Peekskill;

Robert Orlando of California, Michael Orlando of Florida and Michael Jessup of South Carolina.

Ken is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, and many Nieces and Nephews. His Great-Niece,

Monroe, will miss his deep voice and he will miss her smile and giggles every time he said her name.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY.

Military Honors will be rendered at 5:00 pm followed by a chapel service.
