I am very sorry to hear that John passed away. He was a shining light at the Greenburgh Senior center where he participated in exercise classes, special events and was many times, the only guy on a trip with the ladies! He sang at the annual St Patrick’s day party and loved talking about NY sports teams, especially during the years when he was growing up. He was a true gentlemen! May he Rest In Peace! I will always remember Mr. Lenehan's kindness. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. The first time I met Mr. Lenehan was when I hitched a ride home with Kathleen from college. He and Mrs. Lenehan were sitting in their brown recliners, as they usually did. My dad got lost on the way to get me and I was stranded at the Lenehan house for hours! But they welcomed me into their home and made me feel so comfortable. Whenever I would visit their home, he would always ask me questions, offer a drink or snack. He would try to make me laugh too. He always made me feel like a part of the Lenehan clan. I am fortunate to have known him and and forever grateful that he raised such wonderful daughters who I am so proud to call friends. Rest in peace. I know you are with Mrs. Lenehan now, relaxing on your brown recliners, drinking great beer and rusty nails in heaven! Love, Angie Obligado

It is with great sadness that we learned about the passing of John Lenehan (Jackie) as he was known to us. We were blessed to have met him and his wife Elizabeth. Jackie and his family came to visit us here in Kinvara and we were all so excited and thrilled when we heard that he and his family were coming. He was a lovely, kind gentleman, very ordinary and down to earth. Myself and the family have wonderful memories of his visits here and we are very grateful to Jackie for that. Jackie was very proud of his Irish heritage, much like his parents John and Kathleen who made many a trip home to Ireland themselves. We offer our sincere condolences to Ann, Kathleen, Elizabeth Ann, their families, and extended families on his passing. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
