Sanchia Bella Mascarenhas Obituary

Sanchia Bella Mascarenhas was born in Bombay, India on March 13, 1934, to Antonio and Sofia (Coutinho) D’Souza. She was the youngest of five children. Bella was married to the late Tony Pereira who passed away a few short years after they were married. Her second marriage to the late Eric Herman Mascarenhas came much later in life, with whom she had her only child, daughter Savia Natasha at age 41. She immigrated to the United States of America in 1989 with her extended family. She was widowed for the second time in 1992 when Eric suddenly passed away while on a trip to India. She worked as an aesthetician and nail technician for 64 years in Bombay, India, Ossining, New York, Orlando, Florida, Yorktown Heights, New York and

lastly Briarcliff Manor, New York where she finally retired at the young age of 82. Bella was a strong believer in prayers and how they heal the sick. She had a special connection with God.

She also enjoyed singing with Peekskill’s Assumption Church choir and was an honorary member of Ossining’s Old Mill Singers (where she volunteered at the refreshment table at every

concert). She enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives, Wheel of Fortune, and many other game shows. She made the best Indian dishes. She was also very talented at knitting, making

scarves, headbands, blankets, and sweaters.

Bella is predeceased by all four of her brothers and both of her husbands.

She is survived by her daughter, Savia Zubradt (Jonathan and Paul), and granddaughters, Gabriella Zubradt

(Hunter), Rhyan Alexis Zubradt, and Mr. Cheddar Bay Biscuit. Bella passed away peacefully with her daughter and sister-in-law by her side on the morning of March 30, 2023.

To all who knew Bella, she was a strong, caring, and giving person. She will be missed by all who have had the

the honor of knowing her.
