Obituary of Mary Di Rubbo
Mary (Caravaggio) Di Rubbo of Peekskill, NY, passed away suddenly on April 18, 2023. Born in Rocca San Giovanni, Italy, Mary came to the United States when she was 16 years old. She graduated from Mary Immaculate School in Ossining. In 1956, Mary married the love of her life Peter Di Rubbo, Sr. Mary and Peter were married for 64 years before Peter’s passing in 2021.
Everyone that knew Mary knew she was full of energy. When her grandchildren were little, she would drive from Peekskill to Beacon every day to watch them because she didn’t want anyone else watching her grandbabies. Mary would then come home to take care of her household, which included cooking meals from scratch and tending to her garden.
Mary was predeceased by her parents Enrico and Giovina (Marino) Caravaggio, as well as her sisters Ornella, Giannina, and Rita, and her brother Pompeo Caravaggio. She was also predeceased by her son Peter Di Rubbo, Jr. and her beloved husband, Peter Di Rubbo, Sr.
Mary is survived by her sister Giulia (Michele) Falcone in Italy and her son Daniel (Faith) Di Rubbo of Daytona Beach, FL. She also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Most of all, she will be lovingly remembered by her most precious grandsons who were her everything, Daniel Di Rubbo, Jr. and Michael Peter Di Rubbo.
