Louise M. Cummins Obituary

Mrs. Louise M. Cummins, 87, a resident of Ridge St. in Peekskill, NY and formerly of Bayer Drive, Waynesboro, PA, died Monday afternoon, January 4, 2016, at Skyview Nursing Home in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Born January 8, 1928 in Peekskill, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie R. (Pisanelli) Mastracchio.


Mrs. Cummins was a high school graduate who later served with the United States Army. She and her husband, the late Melvin L. Cummins, were married on January 5, 1958. Mr. Cummins died on September 8, 1994. Mrs. Cummins worked as a housekeeper at the Travel Lodge, which later became the Best Western in Waynesboro. She was also a housewife and mother. She is survived by one son, Christopher J. Cummins of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death one son, Steven P. Cummins, who died on December 14, 1993; two sisters and four brothers.


Locally, visitation will be on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 9am until mass time at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 08, 2016, 10am at the Assumption Church in Peekskill. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 11, 2016 in Burns Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Robert Malagesi officiating. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg. There will be no public viewing.
