George Henry Delamater the Third, aka “Dill” of Peekskill, NY, passed away surrounded by his family, on May 28, 2023.
George was born in Peekskill on December 14, 1938. He graduated from Peekskill High School with the class of 1957. He immediately enlisted in the Marine Corps and served his country for three years (until 1960). He joined what would become his second family… the Yonkers fire department in 1966. He met the love of his life, Marylou Delamater, in 1967. After four weeks, they were already married with 56 years of beautiful marriage ahead of them. He is survived by his wife, His three sons James Delamater, John Delamater, and Joe Delamater. George was also blessed with seven grandchildren that impacted his life greatly.
There will be a memorial service at Cortland Yacht Club, 238 Kings Ferry Road Montrose, NY 10548 on Sunday, June 4th between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
