Obituary of Anna Frances Galvin

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

A bright light left this world on July 11, 2023, when Anna Frances Galvin passed away. She was 91 years old. Anna worked as a teacher’s assistant for the Yorktown School District. A job she genuinely enjoyed by sharing her love for art, teaching, being with children, helping, and caring for people. Anna was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Patrick’s Church.

She was born June 16, 1932, in the Bronx to the late Morgan and Catherine (Farmer) Vail. Anna was one of six loving and happy children. Anna had many wonderful memories of her family that she shared with everyone.

In 1948, Anna met the love of her life, John Joseph Galvin. Anna and John married on July 12, 1953. Anna and John were meant for each other - a true storybook love story. Anna and John were blessed with three amazing children, Patty, Jack, and Kevin. A beautiful family.

Anna is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John, her daughter Patty and son-in-law Doug, her son Jack and his fiance, Vicki, and her sister Frances.  She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandson Doug and his wife Heather, her granddaughter Ashley, and her husband Christian, her granddaughter Amber, and her husband Jason, and her great-grandchildren Brooke, Luke, Olivia, Miles, and Sage. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Anna was predeceased by her son, Kevin, her sister Margie, and brothers Morgan, Walter, and Daniel.

Anna’s joy in life was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her pride and joy was her family. Anna was a gifted artist. She enjoyed sharing her talent and teaching her grandchildren how to draw. Anna loved flowers and plants. She had a green thumb. Every week John gave Anna a bouquet of flowers. Anna and John enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach. Anna loved going to the casino and she could work those machines. Anna loved music. She would sing and dance along to the tunes. Anna was a kind, loving, caring, giving, and special woman who will be missed every day. She made the world a brighter, happier, and better place.
