Obituary of Daniel R. Cairl

Daniel R. “Danny” Cairl a long time Peekskill resident, passed away on December 19, 2015. He was 93 years old. Prior to retiring, Danny was a Foreman at General Motors in Tarrytown. Danny was born in West Pittston, PA on June 6, 1922 to Michael and Mary Phyllis Bocolo Caravaggio. On May 12, 1946 he married Yolanda Criniti at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in New York City. He served in the US Army-Air Corps. during WWII. Danny was a graduate of the Arts Student League in New York City. He was a Fourth Degree Knight and a long time dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Lodge 462 in Peekskill. For over 57 years, Danny was a devoted member, parishioner and usher at the Assumption Church where he volunteered his services and talents for a multitude of tasks and activities. Danny is survived by his beloved wife Yolanda of Peekskill and two sons; Dennis Cairl of Cortlandt Manor and Ralph (Maureen) Cairl of Myrtle Beach, SC. Five grandchildren; James, Stephanie, Timothy, Kelly and Daniel. Also survived by fifteen great grandchildren and two nephews; Michael and Anthony Caravaggio. Predeceased by two brothers; Anthony and Joseph and a sister, Philomena Tinklepaugh. Visitation is Tuesday, Dec. 22nd, 4pm to 8pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, Dec. 23rd, 11:30am, at the Assumption Church, followed by private cremation.
