I will never forget the first time I met Ken. I was 26, new to working in the Bronx, and invited to a coalition of people who were much more prestigious than a guidance counselor working in the South Bronx. He came up with Rosy and Immediately wrapped me in a bear hug, and in that voice told me that we were going to do amazing things together. And we did for the next 8 years. He delighted in telling anyone we met how he tried to sell me for chicken in the Edenwald Housing Project, where we ran groups together.
Ken is more than a mentor to me, he was a friend, someone I looked up to and strived to be like. His joy for life was unparalleled, and a piece of my heart will always belong to him. I'm grateful to have had a Ken Wilson in my life, may his legacy live forever.
