Obituary of Lucy Rose Margiotta

Lucy Rose Margiotta a long time Verplanck resident passed away on December 16, 2015. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Margiotta along with her husband Jerry and their children owned and operated the Paradise Restaurant in Verplanck. Lucy was born in Manhattan on December 13, 1930 to Frank and Veronica Sepi Lombardi. On May 2, 1953 she married Victor Gerard “Jerry” Margiotta at St. Helena’s Church in the Bronx. In 2008, Lucy received the Italian American Woman of Distinction from the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society in Verplanck. She is survived by her beloved husband Jerry Margiotta of Verplanck and ten loving children; Anthony Margiotta, Lagrangeville, NY, Marie Victoria (Stephen) Wolpert, Athens, NY, Frank (Sharon) Phoenix, AZ, Michael Margiotta, Lagrange, NY, Gerard (Angela), Rensselaer, NY, James (Amy), Peoria, AZ, John (Frances), Verplanck, Victor Margiotta, Verplanck, Joseph (Lisa), Verplanck, NY and Charles (Elizabeth) Margiotta, Virginia. Also surviving are twenty-five cherished grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother, Anthony Lombardi (Theresa), Chappaqua, NY along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by, four brothers and three sisters. Visitation is Friday, Dec. 18th, 3pm to 7pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, Dec. 19th, 10am at St. Patrick’s Church, Verplanck. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
