Obituary of Joseph Lagana

Joseph “Pino” Lagana of Cortlandt Manor, New York passed away on December 7th at the age of 83. 

Born October 5, 1940, to Brigida and Angelo Lagana in Reggio Calabria, Italy, and married Marian Leonardi in 1969. 

Joseph was predeceased by his sister Maddalena and survived by his wife, brother Rocco (Gemma), sons Angelo (Celeste) and Joseph (Maria), and daughter Regina (Adam). 

He was a devoted father, grandfather (Nonno), and great-grandfather.

Joseph served in the Italian Army and moved to America in his twenties, where he met Marian in the Bronx.  As a highly skilled carpenter, he tirelessly worked to provide for his family, but he always made sure to take time to be with his children. 

Joseph had a love for gardening, wine-making, and Italian soccer. He was dedicated to the Catholic Church (Graymoor) where he sang in the choir for many years and gained many lifelong friends.

His sense of humor is something that will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to Graymoor-The Holy Mountain

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columbanus Church on Monday, December 11. 2023, at 11:30 am.

Private cremation ceremony to follow.
