Joan M. Cassidy of Peekskill New York passed unexpectedly Saturday, March 30th at home. 

Joan was born in the Bronx, NY on April 28th, 1960 to father Charles F. Cassidy Jr. And mother Lillian Cassidy (Dacey).

Joan had fond memories of her childhood neighborhood and being brought up there alongside her two brothers Kenneth and Charles.

They later relocated to Cortlandt Manor NY in the early 70s. Joan attended Walter Panas High School and spent her teen years enjoying life and making memories with her Quarry Acres friends and more. 

Joan obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing degree and began to work as an LPN in various facilities over her career, most close to her heart was her time at Briar Crest Nursing Home. 

Joan fulfilled her greatest accomplishment and became a mother in 1992 to daughter Desirae. Her biggest joy in this world was Desirae and would not be shy to jump at the opportunity to tell you all about it, her “Desi” as she affectionately called her.

Her love and affection for her daughter knew no bounds and her absence leaves a large void. 

Joan enjoyed little more than spending time with her cat Loki, mastering her favorite game, Words With Friends, and watching her favorite TV show General Hospital.

Joan is survived by her beloved Daughter Desirae Cassidy (Patrick MacLennan) of Hopewell Junction NY. Brother and Sister in Law Chuck & Patricia Cassidy, and Godson Charles L. Cassidy of Peekskill NY. She leaves behind cherished friends and cousins as well. 

Joan is predeceased by her parents Charles and Lillian Cassidy, Her Brother Kenneth Cassidy and her godson Edward L. Keane

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm  at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY

Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:30 am.
