Obituary of Lauren Cummings

The world won’t be the same without Lauren Cummings (Dahl), 41, of Wappingers Falls, NY, a cherished wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, whose infectious laughter and boundless positivity made all our lives better.

Lauren showed unwavering strength during her more than 14-year battle with cancer, and demonstrated resilience until the very end, choosing to go on her own terms on May 17, only after spending time with the people she cherished the most and completing her Auntie’s “To-Do” list. 

She loved everything about the life she made with her husband and love of her life, Chris; shopping and laughing with her best friend and mom, Fran Dahl; bonding over childhood memories, inside jokes and navigating the ups and downs of adult life with her brother, Matt Dahl; and creating memories with her in-laws, Jess Dahl and Andrea, Bill, Matt, Stacey, Mikey and Katie Cummings. And she got the most joy being known as “Auntie Laur” to Tyler & Ryan Dahl, Carter Cummings and Sienna & Talia Cummings; and an honorary aunt to Owen Baisley and Hudson, Peyton, Brooke, and Bryson Conte. 

Her love knew no bounds, whether it was the warmth she shared with her family or the countless lives she touched as a school counselor in the Pine Bush School District.

Lauren found delight in sharing jokes and thoughtful gestures with those closest to her. Her quick wit, straightforward personality, love for holidays, crafting blankets, appreciation of a tasty crab cake at Caddys, affectionate spirit and, of course, her fondness for Target and Starbucks will forever be cherished. 

As we deeply mourn the loss of Lauren, we’ll also celebrate the beautiful soul that she was and the love she shared so freely, all while ensuring her spirit lives on in the countless lives she’s touched. 

Lauren is also survived by her Grandma, Beverly Weissman, and extended family, and was preceded in death by her father, Ossie Dahl.

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY  on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Farewell Service for family to follow on Thursday am.
